چکیده
Abstract Urban greenspaces can affect the physical and mental health of city residents they also contribute to improving urban environmental quality in ways that benefit human health. Dhaka, a megacity with over 22.4 million residents, has progressively lost its greenspace past decade as grown urbanised. This study evaluates availability accessibility considering population residential areas, well assessing changes last 30 years throughout city. We utilized secondary data from 2011 Census areal imagery perform analysis for wards, smallest administrative unit, using ArcGIS software. generated geospatial maps distribution vegetation, land surface temperature humidity different years. Accessibility was measured 100-meter 300-meter buffer zones, total 56.5 square kilometers area 77.47 fell under these territories. Changes vegetation were obtained Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) 1990, 2000, 2010, 2020, high level loss observed. Land Surface Temperature (LST) Moisture (NDMI) used assess same Dhaka 2.24% coverage only 2 wards out 110 have greater than 20% coverage. A highest estimate 0.003207 meter per capita found at ward-46, which does not even meet minimum standard. Increased decreased observed 1990 may adversely impact on population’s public correlation between NDVI LST NDMI. In 49% decreased, whereas increased. provides noteworthy information lack The spatial provided potential be useful taking measures sustainable greenery management Dhaka’s growing population.

Modelling of Urban Flooding in Dhaka City
Flooding in urban areas is an inevitable problem for many cities in Asia. In Bangladesh, Dhaka has serious problems related to urban flooding. The situation was highlighted in September 1996 when residences experienced ankle to kneedeep water on the streets. Daily activities in parts of the city were nearly paralyzed and heavy traffic jams occurred due to stagnant water on the streets. The stud...

Information on a variation of impervious surface is useful for understanding urbanization and its impacts on the hydrological cycle, water management, surface energy balances, urban heat island, and biodiversity. This research attempts to detect impervious surfaces and its changes by satellite imagery in Qaemshahr. The relationship between impervious surfaces and changes in land surface tempera...
متن کاملPublic greenspace and life satisfaction in urban Australia
This paper examines the influence of public greenspace on the life satisfaction of residents of Australia’s capital cities. A positive relationship is found between the percentage of public greenspace in a resident’s local area and their self-reported life satisfaction. On average, it is found that a resident has an implicit willingness-to-pay of $1,168 in annual household income for a one-per-...
متن کاملNeighborhood greenspace and health in a large urban center
Studies have shown that natural environments can enhance health and here we build upon that work by examining the associations between comprehensive greenspace metrics and health. We focused on a large urban population center (Toronto, Canada) and related the two domains by combining high-resolution satellite imagery and individual tree data from Toronto with questionnaire-based self-reports of...
متن کاملChemical Speciation of Particulate Matter Pollution in Urban Dhaka City
Dhaka, the capital and largest city of Bangladesh, lacks a regular air pollution monitoring network to measure and assess ambient air pollution level. Several academic and research projects attempted to measure a limited number of air pollutants near roadways in the central business district. These studies revealed that ambient concentrations of lead, benzene, particulate matter, carbon monoxid...
